This 2004 Jeep was involved in a collision with a train on the Inskeep Road railroad track on Monday evening. Two people were injured. The accident was believed to be weather-related.

JEFFERSON TWP. — Authorities are investigating the collision of a train and a car that injured two people Monday evening on the Inskeep Road railroad track, according to Fayette County Sheriff Vernon Stanforth.

At around 5:48 p.m., the accident involving the train and a 2004 Jeep was reported to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. Two injuries were reported with one person being transported by ground to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. The injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.

The vehicle was knocked off the railroad track during the crash. No names have been released.

Inskeep Road was closed Monday evening between State Route 41 and Old Route 35. The accident is believed to be weather-related, according to authorities.
