The Good Hope Lions presented the W.R. “Dick” Bryan Award of recognition to Immediate Past President Lion Jim Davis for his many years of service to the club (serving as president two times), serving on the board of directors numerous times, serving on the Pancake & Sausage Committee and all the many club activities.

Davis volunteers when a need arises, not just within the club but also in the community.

In honor and recognition of Ohio’s Past International president (1969-1970), W. R. “Dick” Bryan, the Ohio Lions Eye Research Foundation established a special endowment fund (the W. R. Bryan Diabetic Eye Disease Research Fund) to support research into the prevention and cure of diabetic eye disease.

The W. R. “Dick” Bryan award is given in recognition of accomplishments in Lions-related and other community activities.

Good Hope Lions make donations to the Ohio Lions Eye Research Foundation with funds generated from the semi-annual pancake and sausage breakfast (to be held on Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Wayne Township Hall in Good Hope) and from the annual candy store, which will be starting on Nov. 15 and will be held at the former Southern State Community College facility on Highland Avenue.
