Washington girls second, boys fourth at annual WCH Invitational

Washington High School hosted their annual Washington Court House Invitational on Friday, April 14, with a total of 10 teams participating.

The winning girls team was Circleville with 128.50 points, followed by Washington with 118, McClain with 116, Hillsboro with 83, Logan Elm with 68.50, Cedarville with 59.50, Zane Trace with 59.50, London with 50, Minford with 13, and Grove City Christian with 6 points.

The winning boys team was Zane Trace with 109.50 points, followed by Cedarville with 102.50, London with 92.50, Washington with 90, Logan Elm with 84, Minford with 67, Hillsboro with 58.50, Grove City Christian with 40, Circleville with 30, and McClain with 27 points.

Finishing in the top three individually for Washington:

In the girls 100-meter hurdles, Morgan Cartwright finished in second with a time of 17.55.

In the girls 100-meter dash, Kierstyn Mitchell finished second with a time of 13.30.

In the boys 100-meter dash, Mason Coffman won with a time of 11.12 which broke the meet record, and Rocky Jones finished in second with a time of 11.29.

The girls 4×200 meter relay team of Kierstyn Mitchell, Morgan Cartwright, Allie Mongold, and Megan Mongold finished in first with a time of 1:50.67.

The boys 4×200 meter relay team of Rocky Jones, Mason Coffman, Gabe Perez, and Caden Shiltz placed first with a time of 1:33.76.

In the girls 1600-meter run, Maggi Wall placed third with a time of 5:56.79.

The girls 4×100 meter relay team of Aysha Haney, Jordyn Gray, Mackayla Cartmell, and Lydia Mootispaw placed third with a time of 53.82.

The boys 4×100 meter relay team of Rocky Jones, Caden Shiltz, Andrew Young, and Toby Mitchell placed second with a time of 45.26.

In the girls 400-meter dash, Allie Mongold won with a time of 1:02.21.

In the boys 400-meter dash, Gabe Perez placed third with a time of 53.11.

In the girls 200-meter dash, Kierstyn Mitchell placed second with a time of 27.80, and Allie Mongold was third with a time of 27.98.

In the boys 200-meter dash, Mason Coffman placed third with a time of 23.28.

In the girls 3200-meter run, Madison Hayes placed second with a time of 12:51.50.

The girls 4×400 meter relay team of Kierstyn Mitchell, Allie Mongold, Megan Mongold, and Morgan Cartwright placed third with a time of 4:24.44.

In the girls long jump, Aysha Haney won with a jump of 15’ 6 1/4”.

In the boys long jump, Rocky Jones placed second with a jump of 18’11” and Andrew Young placed third with a jump of 18’10”.

Washington will compete again on Friday, April 21 at the Hillsboro Invitational at 4:30 p.m.
