Reconciling different perspectives

0

How can so many people see the same thing and all see it from different perspectives? This has been proven in eyewitness accounts of various tragedies as people relay the events as they remember them. Sometimes people can be proven wrong and they will still not admit what they remember is not right.

This same thing happens when people are convinced that the view they hold on an issue is the only possibility. If others have a different view they will reject that view and at times reject anyone that might not see it as they do. Their perspective is set and it is very difficult to change it. It is good to have core values but these values are usually a result of many life lessons that have accumulated over the years. The difference in core values and perspective is that perspective is how you view the issue at hand. If I move 180 degrees around a horse, I will see his head and not his tail. It will be a very different perspective. I know he is a horse but he sure looks different according to where I am standing.

We are in a time when to some a horse looks like a tail and to others a horse looks like a head. These are totally different perspectives of the same horse. The problem is that those who are seeing the head think that those who are seeing the tail are delusional. Lines have been drawn out of fear and bad information. This causes division and even hatred.

We have the privilege of being able to know the truth. It is found in the Word of God through Jesus.

John 1:14; And the Word became flesh and dwelt amount us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

This is the only thing that will bring peace and unity to mankind. Just as darkness is the absence of light, evil is the absence of good. Evil is defeated by the love of God because love conquers all!

We consider these everyday issues at the Gathering Place every Sunday morning at 9:30 and 10:30 and Wednesday evening at 7. Sunday evening we have youth group and addiction class at 6. Come and join in.
