Do you love your town?

Proverbs 11:10-11, “When it goeth well with righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting. By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.”

This is how God describes our town. He says the upright and righteous brings blessings and exaltation to a city, and the wicked overthrow it. Do you love your town? Do you think enough of your town to tell them the old, old story?

Look at Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Our Jerusalem is the town in which we live. Do you think enough of your town to pray for it?

Look at II Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Wickedness increases when good men and women do nothing to stop it. Do you love your town?
