Lady Lions win bowling Sectional

CHILLICOTHE — The Washington Lady Lion bowling team captured the Division II Sectional championship held at Shawnee Lanes in Chillicothe Thursday, Feb. 13.

Washington had a final team score of 3,124.

The tournament consisted of three regular games and six baker games.

Twenty-one schools were represented in the tournament.

Washington had three bowlers place in the top six, led by senior Lindsey Buckner who placed second overall out of 118 bowlers with a three-game score of 574.

Junior Brooklyn Foose was third overall with a three-game score of 493.

Junior Hanna Yoho was sixth with a score of 474.

Senior Maitlyn Cave was 25th with a 401.

Senior Ali Reeves bowled one game with a score of 130 and junior Jessika Young rolled a 95 game.

Washington had baker game scores of 160, 126, 137, 158, 139 and 154 for an 874 total.

Fairfield was second with a 3,021, followed by Lynchburg-Clay with a 2,849 score and New Lexington, 2,848.

Sheridan was fifth with a 2,804, Zane Trace was sixth at 2,774 and Logan Elm was seventh at 2,772.

Eastern was eighth with a 2,730, Vinton County was ninth with a 2,612 score and Ironton was 10th with a 2,578.

McClain was 11th with a 2,573 score.

Senior Parker Smith of Logan Elm bowled a 616 series to lead the field at the Sectional.

Washington, along with Fairfield, Lynchburg-Clay and New Lexington, competed in the Division II District tournament Friday, Feb. 21.

Lady Lions win District title

Washington won the District championship Friday, Feb. 21 and will compete at State Saturday, Feb. 29 at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl. The alleys are located at 3224 South High Street, Columbus.

Miami Trace will compete in the Division I District tournament Friday, Feb. 28 at Sunrise Strikes in Zanesville.
