On Jan. 10, the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce and its ambassadors presented a 5-Year Business Award to the Ranch of Opportunity.

Residential director, Terry Hopkins, and his staff are charged with providing care, help and hope to teenage girls in a six to eight-month residential treatment program. The Ranch is located on 22 beautiful acres, complete with therapy horses and a barn.

Girls are referred by their legal guardian, which may include their parents, children’s services agencies, or juvenile courts. Because of the unique nature of the trauma informed care program, a national best practice philosophy of care, they have worked with over 40 referral sources throughout the state of Ohio and beyond.

Funding for the Ranch comes from several sources. They also seek and receive individual and corporate donations to support and enhance the comprehensive programs they provide. According to Community Development Director, Kristy Bowers, the outpouring of support for the girls during the recent Christmas holiday was overwhelming, yet greatly appreciated.

The Chamber congratulates the Ranch of Opportunity on its five-year anniversary and wish them continued success as they work to change the lives of girls for the better.
