DAYTON — On a beautiful Wednesday afternoon, the Washington C.H. 12-year-old all-star baseball team began District Eight tournament play for 2017 with a game at Dayton Northridge.

The Washington C.H. all-stars were just too strong, posting a 29-0 victory.

Washington C.H. made quite a lot out of three turns at bat Wednesday on a field in behind Grafton Kennedy Elementary School, which is not far off I-75 just north of Dayton.

Washington scored nine runs in the first, 10 in the second and 10 in the third.

Four Washington pitchers each worked one inning to combine for a no-hitter.

Wesley May started for Washington, striking out the side to set the tone.

Brady Armstrong pitched the second inning for the Washington all-stars.

He retired the first batter on a ball hit back to him.

After back-to-back walks, Washington turned a double play, Tanner Lemaster with the force at third and the throw across to Drew Guthrie at first.

Bryson Sheets pitched the third inning for Washington.

He walked the first batter he faced and struck out the second.

The next batter hit into a double play, Sheets to Guthrie to John Wall.

Finally, in the fourth, Mason Coffman went to the mound for Washington.

He struck out the side, though a batter did reach first base on what was either a wild pitch or a passed ball.

Offensively, in the first inning, Washington sent 13 batters to the plate, collecting nine hits and scoring nine runs.

In the second inning, Washington sent 15 batters to the plate with another nine hits and 10 runs.

Washington’s final time at the plate featured 13 batters, six hits, including a grand slam home run and a total of 10 runners scoring.

Seven Washington players had multiple hit games at Northridge.

Drew Guthrie went 3 for 5 with the above-mentioned grand slam, a double, four RBI and four runs scored.

John Wall in the lead-off spot in the order went 3 for 3 with a walk and four runs scored.

Tyler Tackage, batting second, went 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles, four RBI and four runs scored.
