According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

March 16

Traffic Crash: Joshua Wolfe of Bloomingburg was traveling west on Harrison Road and lost control of his vehicle. Wolfe traveled off the left side of the roadway into the ditch overturning striking a utility pole. Wolfe was transported for treatment of possible injuries. Wolfe was cited for failure to control.

Fraud: Deputies responded to 50 Miron Street in Bloomingburg on a report of fraud. The caller reported speaking with an unknown subject on the telephone who stated she was picked to receive a gift card. It was later determined it to be a scam.

Criminal Damaging: Leone Manns of Jeffersonville reported while her vehicle was parked on Woodsview Drive, someone caused damage to the rear fender.

Drug abuse/physical control while under the influence: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Route 41 on a possible overdose. Upon arrival deputies located two male subjects inside a vehicle. Nalaxone was administered and both subjects were transported by EMS for further treatment.

Drug abuse: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Railroad Street in the Village of Jeffersonville on a possible overdose. EMS responded administering Nalaxone. The male was transported to a medical facility for treatment.

March 15

Telephone Harassment: Glenda Campbell of Jeffersonville reported receiving unwanted phone calls from known a female. Deputies made contact with the known female who was advised her to cease contact.

Lost property: Julie Garrett of Washington C.H. reported property being lost at her residence.

Traffic crash: A single-car motor vehicle crash was reported on Route 435 at West Lancaster Road. Minerva Dyson of Washington C.H. was transported by squad to a local area hospital for medical care.

March 14

Theft: An employee at the Lion’s Den in Jeffersonville reported that an unknown male entered the store and concealed merchandise before departing without paying.

Deceased: Deputies were dispatched to 9000 Block of West Lancaster Road on a deceased male. It was determined the male had multiple medical issues and died of natural causes.

Traffic crash: A two-car motor vehicle crash was reported on U.S. 22 West at the U.S. 35 access road. Cassandra Baird of Washington C.H. was cited for failure to yield.

Fire: Sheriff’s deputies responded to a house fire on Moon-Evans Road. At the time of the report it was believed the fire started in a wood pellet stove. Jefferson Twp. Fire Department responded to the scene extinguishing the fire.

Burglary/theft: Donna Shelton of Washington C.H. reported an unknown person entered her residence removing prescription medication.

Assault/intimidation of a witness: An inmate of the Fayette County Jail was assaulted by a known person.

March 13

Traffic crash: Matthew Sparks of Waverly was traveling west bound on Cook Yankeetown Road and traveled off the road right and struck the ditch. No injuries were reported and Sparks was cited in the incident.

Traffic crash: A two-car motor vehicle crash was reported on S R 435 at Factory Shops Blvd. William Hicks of Cedarville was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Telephone harassment: Branson Leisure of Bloomingburg reported he received unwanted text messages from known person. Prosecution was declined.

Assault: Vincent E. Grooms of New Holland reported he was assaulted by a known person. Prosecution was declined.

Protection order service: Deputies made service of a civil protection order to a respondent in a protectiojn order.

March 12

Unruly: A report was made on a 1 year old female who was unruly and failed to obey rules.

Domestic dispute: Deputies were dispatched to 6000 block of Palmer Road on a domestic incident. Upon the completion of the investigation it was determined that no threats of violence or assault occurred.

Domestic violence: Deputies were dispatched to Jamison Road trailer park on a domestic incident. During the investigation it was revealed that an assault had occurred. Corey Jarrell was arrested on a warrant filed in the incident.

Attempted suicide: Deputies were dispatched to a Bloomingburg resident on a complaint of a suicide. A female was located and transported to FCMH for evaluation.

Criminal damaging: Charles Hagler of Jeffersonville reported person(s) unknown caused damage to his residence.

Traffic crash: Andrew Chipperfield of Greenfield was traveling northbound on Route 729 near the three mile marker and traveled off the right side of the roadway. Chipperfield then struck a guardrail before overturning several times in a field. Alcohol was determined a factor in the crash. The vehicle sustained heavy damage. Chipperfield was transported to FCMH for treatment. Charges are pending.

Traffic crash: A single-car motor vehicle crash was reported on U.S. 35 East near the 20 mile post. Nicolas L. Ranieri of Loveland refused medical treatment on the scene, and was cited for failure to control.

Domestic violence: Deputies responded to a report of a domestic violence incident. Upon interviewing Nathan and Misty Rapp of Bloomingburg, they both reported being assaulted by the other party. Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail.

Aggravated menacing: Clinton Jarrell of New Holland reported receiving threatening phone calls from known male subject. Deputy made contact with the known subject who was advised to have no further contact with Jarrell.

March 11

Theft: An employee of the Sunglass Hut reported persons unknown removed merchandise from the business without payment.

Domestic violence: Chelsea Aleshire of Bloomingburg reports during a verbal altercation with a known male subject she was assaulted. Michael Mason of Bloomingburg was arrested and charged in the matter.

Burglary/theft: Jayson Gordon of Washington C.H. reported person(s) unknown entered his residence and removed a TV.

Criminal trespassing: James Howe of Bloomingburg reported person(s) unknown entered his property and struck his residence. No property damage was discovered.

Theft: Connie Jones of Washington C.H. reported that while she was at work at Tanger Mall person(s) unknown removed her purse.

Burglary/theft: Christopher Callender of Washington C.H. reported person(s) unknown entered his residence and removed property.

Traffic crash: Valerie Gates of Washington C.H. was traveling north on Old State Route 38 and lost control of her vehicle. Gates traveled off the right side of the roadway entering the ditch striking a telephone box. No injuries were reported. Gates was issued a citation for failure to control.

March 10

Protection order service: Deputies made service of a civil protection order to a respondent pursuant to court order.

Animal complaint: Meghan Spears of Washington C.H. reported several children from the neighborhood had been playing with her dog, when she heard it yelp. Later upon checking the dog she found it to be injured. She does not have any knowledge of who or how the dog was injured.

Civil incident: Nancy Bennett of Bloomingburg reported a tree service had begun removing a tree from her property without her consent. Upon contacting the tree service the deputy learned that the tree service had been contracted by the Village to remove an unsafe tree. Upon being informed of this Bennett allowed the workers to remove the debris already cut from the tree.

Protection order service: Deputies served a CPO to a respondent pursuant to court order.

Identity theft: Kristie Fox of Washington C.H. reported person(s) unknown attempted to open credit accounts in her name.

Burglary/theft: Hazel Long of Jeffersonville reported person(s) unknown entered her residence and removed her purse and her vehicle.

March 9

Domestic violence: Deputies responded to a report of domestic violence on Post Road. A known female reported being assaulted by a known juvenile. The juvenile was charged in the incident.

Theft: Employees from the Travel Centers of America reported an unknown male removed property from the business without making a purchase.

Found property: Sheriff’s deputy responded to US 22 on property that was located along the roadway. The property was recovered and placed into property for safekeeping.

Domestic dispute: Sheriff’s deputies responded to Spring Lake Avenue on a domestic incident. Upon arrival all parties involved were identified and it was determined that no assault or threats of violence had occurred.

Traffic crash: Katelyn Sword of Washington C.H. was traveling southbound on Route 207 and struck a deer in the roadway. The vehicle sustained minor damage. No injuries were reported.

Criminal damaging: A member of Walnut Church of Christ in Leesburg reported that person(s) unknown caused damage to the building.
