The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce recently awarded $4,500 in scholarships to six graduating seniors of Fayette County schools.
To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must have at least a 3.25 GPA, be enrolled in secondary education and show a strong history of community involvement. The recipients were on hand at the board’s monthly meeting. There were two winners selected at each school – Miami Trace Local Schools, Washington Court House City Schools and Fayette Christian School.
Proceeds from the annual Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing were used to fund the scholarships.
“The board is very happy to support these graduates in pursuing their education, and we wish them every success,” said Chamber president Whitney Gentry. “We also want to thank those who supported our golf outing….without them we wouldn’t be able to award these scholarships.”
