Hillsboro – Occupational therapist Erin Bales recently completed her doctorate degree in occupational therapy through Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, Utah.

The doctoral program, with a focus in education within allied medicine, provided opportunities for Bales to advance her understanding of evidence-based practices in the area of occupational therapy, research and literature analysis, and the application of educational theory and learning strategies for a variety of learners.

The program will also enhance Bales’ practice and application of current treatment strategies for students, based on a synthesis of the most current data and evidence available in the field. According to Bales, treatments which are founded on proven outcomes and clinical significance have the greatest likelihood of positively impacting students, and she now has greater confidence in her ability to select these types of interventions.

Working through Region 14 Hopewell Center in Hillsboro, Bales currently serves students in the Fairfield, Miami Trace Local and Washington C.H. City school districts.
