Join Carnegie Public Library, Fayette Soil & Water, Fayette County Historical Society, and Master Gardener’s at Washington Cemetery for “Fall Family Fun Day!” on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Kids can churn butter, make old-fashioned toys, take tours of the cemetery (including the mausoleum!), play old-fashioned games, and star-gaze under the Harvest Moon. All families welcome, no registration required! Meet at Washington Cemetery.

Coming up: Libraries in both Washington Court House and Jeffersonville will be closed on Monday, Oct. 9 in observance of Columbus Day. Both locations will reopen Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 10 a.m.

Adults: On Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 5 p.m., Fayette County Commission on Aging’s Cheryl Stockwell will hold a question and answer session regarding Medicare Open Enrollment. This event will be held in the library meeting room.

In Washington Court House: Join us for storytime! Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. is Preschool Storytime, children 3 – 5 years old, and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. is Books & Blocks, children 1 – 3 years old. Each week features a new theme! Siblings are welcome at either session. Also, each Tuesday at 11:15 a.m., the library will host “Books & Babies.” “Books & Babies” is a 15-minute session specifically created for our youngest patrons to look at board books, do finger plays, bounce on laps and explore. This early literacy time will introduce your baby to the library and the world of books!

Teens! Sign up to attend “GOREgeous” Pumpkin Creations” on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 3:30 p.m. Give your pumpkin scars, stitches, and movie-style horror makeup!

In Jeffersonville: Tuesdays at 11 a.m., come, listen to stories, play instruments, create crafts and socialize with other little friends at Toddler Time. Coming up: On Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 4 p.m., Robert Russell will sign and sell copies of his new book: “I Solemnly Swear: The Sheriffs of Fayette County, Ohio.” Stop by!
