Carnegie Public Library recently took a field trip to to the Washington Fire Department to learn how our local heroes prepare for emergencies. Eighty-seven library patrons attended as firefighters Yeoman, Rennison and Langley showed off their trucks and equipment. The field trip ended abruptly when a fire call came through and within minutes the crew was geared up, on the truck, and out the door. Carnegie Public Library will be taking several more free field trips this summer. Please visit the library in person or online for a schedule. Pictured here is Jackson trying his aim with the fire hose.

Firefighter Rennison politely ended the tour and was on his truck within two minutes after the alarm rang.
