The following local meetings and events are scheduled:

Taylor Swift Skate Night – April 26

From 6:30-10:30 p.m., Roller Haven Fun Center in Washington Court House will be hosting a Taylor Swift Skate Night for Swifties to come skate to Taylor Swift music and have the chance to win exciting prizes like a Taylor Swift poster or her new album on CD. Admission is $14, not including skate rental which is $3.

Fish with a Firefighter – April 27

The Washington Fire Department has scheduled an event for children to fish with a firefighter to be held on Saturday, April 27 at Eyman Park from 9 a.m. to noon. The fire department is partnering with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Washington High School Fishing Club for this event. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The adult must take full responsibility for the safety of the child they accompany. The event is free. No registration is required. Children are encouraged to bring their own rod and tackle. A limited supply will be available on a first come first serve basis. Bait will be provided while supplies last. All volunteer fire departments serving Fayette County will be joining the Washington Fire Department to help with this children’s’ educational activity.

Smash It Courthouse Crash – April 27

Smash It Demo Derby will be back at the Fayette County Fairgrounds in Washington Court House, starting at 6 p.m.

Spaghetti Dinner – April 27

Come support the Jeffersonville Community Library on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Jeffersonville Lions Club House for a spaghetti dinner. Dine in or carry out. Includes salad, spaghetti and homemade desserts. Cost: $10, Adults $5, Children 10 years & under free. The dinner will be held at Jeffersonville Lions Club House on 1 Railroad St.

Spring Mental Health Conference – May 3

The Fayette County Suicide Prevention Coalition will host a spring conference for Mental Health Awareness Month on Saturday, May 3, at the OSU Fayette County Extension Office, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The conference and lunch are being offered at no cost to the first 50 people who register. Fayette County Business Expo – May 9

Looking for a job? Want to know what careers are available in the local area? Interested in learning what a particular business does or produces? Meet local businesses at the Fayette County Business Expo at the Fayette County YMCA from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. hosted by the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce. You do not have to be a chamber member to participate. Open to the public.

Second Saturday Car Cruise, Food Truck & Concerts – May 11

The Second Saturday Car Cruise – food trucks and concerts series continues on May 11, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Main Street in Washington Court House.

Steve Luebbe retirement celebration – May 16

The public is invited to celebrate the retirement of Fayette County Engineer Steve Luebbe after 25 years of service to the Fayette County Engineer’s Office. The celebration will be held on Thursday, May 16 from 4-7 p.m. at the Mahan Building, 213 Fairview Ave. in Washington C.H.

MTHS Class of 1974’s 50th reunion – Sept. 27, 28
