CHILLICOTHE — American Red Cross volunteer Linda Hamilton, of Fayette County, was honored at a recent chapter event. A 15-year volunteer, Hamilton serves in a number of volunteer roles, including Disaster Action Team and staffing.

Presenting a 15-year certificate and service pin, chapter executive director Katie Uhl said, “I really wanted to be here for this award. Linda has worked in many areas of disaster. She gave 15 years of dedication, and held down the fort in Fayette County. If you want to know about a disaster role, just ask Linda.”

Also offering praise for Linda’s services, volunteer engagement specialist McKenzie Houston said, “You are truly a blessing. It is such an honor. Your energy and dedication are what makes the world a better place.”

In addition to her other duties, Linda served to call out volunteers to respond to the recent tornadoes in Indian Lake and neighboring communities.

When asked why the Red Cross work is satisfying to her, she simply replied, “It’s obvious I can make a difference.”
