WHS to present ‘Hello, Dolly!’ throughout St. Patrick’s Day weekend

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE — Washington High School invites the community to say “Hello, Dolly!” at the Historic Washington Auditorium throughout St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

Under the direction of David Scott, the talented cast of Washington High School student-performers is ready to take show goers on a journey filled with laughter, romance, and unforgettable melodies.

Located at 390 E. Temple St., the iconic venue will be transformed into a haven of musical magic as the Blue Lions present this record-breaking Tony Award-winning show.

Senior Ozlyn Racine will join the likes of Carol Channing and Barbra Streisand as she portrays the iconic Dolly Levi, the famed New York City matchmaker, where she and her merry band of characters as they dance their way through the bustling streets of New York City, spreading joy and mischief wherever they go. From “Put on Your Sunday Clothes” to “Before the Parade Passes By,” every moment is sure to be a showstopper.

Performance dates and times are as follows:

Friday, March 15 at 7 p.m.

Saturday, March 16 at 7 p.m.

Sunday, March 17 at 2 p.m.

The 1964 Tony Award-winner for Best Musical, Hello, Dolly! has become one of the most enduring musical theater hits, with a total of 14 Tony Awards, four Broadway revivals, and international success. It was also made into the 1969 film Hello Dolly! by 20th Century Fox, which won three Academy Awards, including Best Score of a Musical Picture and was nominated in four other categories, including Best Picture at the 42nd Academy Awards.
