SEAMAN — The Miami Trace Lady Panthers varsity basketball team visited North Adams High School Thursday night, Jan. 4 for a non-conference game against the Green Devils.
North Adams won the game, 66-38.
North Adams jumped out with a strong first quarter, taking a 20-4 lead.
By the half, the home team was in front, 25-17.
North Adams held a 41-28 lead going into the fourth quarter.
Miami Trace senior Jessee Stewart led her team with 21 points. Stewart made four three-point field goals. She also had two assists and two steals.
Freshman Gracie Lovett scored seven points to go along with four rebounds, a team high three assists and two steals.
Freshman Lauren Guess scored four points for Miami Trace, sophomore Ryleigh Vincent had three points and four rebounds and sophomore Cali Kirkpatrick led Miami Trace with five rebounds.
North Adams had three players reach double figures in scoring, led by Kinlie Jones with 22 points. Jones had five of her team’s seven three-point baskets.
Harlee Brand scored 14 points (with one three) and Tatum Grooms scored 11 points.
Katelynn Boerger scored eight points and McKenna Shelton hit one three and finished with seven points.
Miami Trace is now 4-8 overall.
The Lady Panthers had a game scheduled for Saturday at Dayton Meadowdale, but that game has been rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 27 with the j-v game at noon.
Miami Trace returns to Frontier Athletic Conference action Wednesday at home against Chillicothe at 5:30 p.m.
Chillicothe is 1-10 overall, 1-4 in the FAC. Miami Trace has a conference record of 1-4. The Lady Cavaliers’ most recent result was a 54-46 loss at Fairfield Union (now 3-8) on Jan. 3.
North Adams (7-3 overall) plays at Sardinia Eastern today.
