CHERYL ELAINE BINEGAR, age 44, of Washington Court House, passed away at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 28th, 2023 at The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on May 4th, 1979 in Cleveland, Ohio and was the daughter of Thomas Robert and Denise Dorothy Biddle Risbeck. On May 13th, 2000 she married her loving husband of twenty-three years, Jason Binegar.

Cheryl was a 1997 graduate of GlenOak High School in Canton, Ohio. Following high school, Cheryl attended Kentucky Christian University where she played basketball (two-time NCCAA national champions), met her husband Jason, and graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science Degree with a focus on Social Work. After moving to Washington C.H., Cheryl worked for the Fayette County Board of Developmental Disabilities for more than twenty years. She started working with the “Help Me Grow” Program at the Health Department and then served as a Service and Support Administrator and a Certified Trauma Informed Care Trainer. It was there she touched the lives of many with her talent, kindness, compassion, and love. Cheryl was a member of the Heritage Memorial Church where she served as a VBS volunteer. Other organizations and committees Cheryl was influential in within the community were Cluster Council, Family and Children First Council, Behavioral Support Advisory Council, Parents Day Out Committee, Kids in Safe Seats, Human Rights Committee and she served as a Good Life Coordinator for Fayette County. Cheryl loved the game of basketball; she had served as a girls’ basketball coach for the Washington C.H. Middle School, Circleville Bible College and the Little Lady Panthers. She was very family-oriented and enjoyed spending time with her kids, her husband, Jason, and all of her family. But most of all, Cheryl’s deep faith and unwavering reliance on God guided every day of her life. Even with the trials of her illness, she was always ready to praise God for his mercy and love. She was a giving soul, was loved, and will be truly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her children, Braden and Hannah Binegar; her father, Thomas (Vicki) Risbeck; her brother, Ben Risbeck; brothers-in-law; Rich (Amanda) Binegar and Micah (Kellie) Binegar; her nieces and nephews, Bella and Eva Risbeck, and Addie, Lexi, Milo, Josie, Finn, and Hank Binegar; and her parents-in-law, Rick and Debbie Binegar.
