Jackson tennis beats Washington, 4-1


The Washington High School tennis team hosted its second match of the 2023 season Thursday, Aug. 10.

It was the Frontier Athletic Conference opener for the Blue Lions as they welcomed Jackson.

The visiting Jackson squad won the match, four courts to one.

At first singles, Washington’s Jillian Frederick defeated Lauren Carper, 6-3, 6-4.

At second singles, Kate Bailey lost to Lacey Houser, 4-6, 5-7.

Siddhi Patel lost to Mya Dummitt at third singles, 3-6, 4-6.

At first doubles, Sam Dallmayer and Adysun Bartruff fell to Hannah Fortner and Kylee Fowler in a three-set match, 3-6, 6-0, 4-6.

At second doubles, Gretchen Reed and Kendell Woods lost to McKensy Coyan and McKinlee Lizon, 6-7 (1-7).

Washington will host Unioto Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. and travel to London High School Wednesday.
