Blue Lions, Lady Panthers win middle school FAC titles

Washington C.H. — The 2023 Frontier Athletic Conference middle school track and field championship was held on Saturday, May 6 at the Washington High School track and field complex. This meet saw two Fayette County teams emerge as FAC champions, as the Washington boys and Miami Trace girls were the winning teams.

For the boys, Washington scored 176 points, followed by Hillsboro with 124, Jackson with 114, Chillicothe with 82, Miami Trace with 66.50, and Greenfield with 30.50.

For the girls, Miami Trace scored 181 points, followed by Chillicothe with 93, Greenfield and Hillsboro with 92, Washington with 90, and Jackson with 58.

Finishing in the top three individually for Washington and Miami Trace boys:

In the 4×800 meter relay, the team of Wyatt Putney, Jared Rivera, Caiden Justice, and David Bennett (W) took second with a time of 9:53.42.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Jared Griffith (MT) won with a time of 17.32 and Bradley Forsythe (W) was third with a time of 18.62.

In the 100-meter dash, Aden Osborne (W) won with a time of 12.34.

In the 4×200 meter relay, the team of Samuel Pfeifer, Caleb Brown, Jackson Everhart, and Leighton Anderson (W) won and broke the meet record with a time of 1:44.19.

In the 1600-meter run, Wyatt Putney (W) was second with a time of 5:23.91.

In the 4×100 meter relay, the team of Austin Jones, Caleb Brown, Jackson Everhart, and Leighton Anderson (W) won with a time of 49.87.

In the 400-meter dash, Wesley Gibbs (W) finished in second with a time of 58.29 and Jadin Armstrong (MT) was third with a time of 1:00.23.

In the 200-meter hurdles, Aden Osborne (W) won and broke the meet record with a time of 28.22.

In the 800-meter run, David Bennett (W) won with a time of 2:26.66 and Wyatt Putney took third with a time of 2:29.78.

In the 200-meter dash, Leighton Anderson (W) won and broke the meet record with a time of 24.81 and Kiontae Tyree (W) took second with a time of 25.22.

In the 4×400 meter relay, the team of Wesley Gibbs, Caiden Justice, David Bennett, and Nathan Reed (W) took second with a time of 4:16.79.

In the shot put, Henry Killien (W) won with a throw of 38’3”.

In the high jump, Elijah Gullett (MT) took second with a jump of 5’2”.

In the pole vault, Jared Griffith (MT) won and broke the meet record with a vault of 9’6” and Bradley Forsythe took third with a vault of 9’.

In the long jump, Kiontae Tyree (W) was second with a jump of 17’4 1/4”.

In the 4×800 meter relay, the team of Karlee Johnson, Victoria Peterson, Emma Hoppes, and Alison Reeves (MT) won and broke the meet record with a time of 11:35.21.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Jayda Jones (MT) finished in third with a time of 19.02.

In the 100-meter dash, Eva Bennett (W) was second with a time of 13.86 and Jayda Jones (MT) took third with a time of 14.05.

In the 4×200 meter relay, the team of Ariah Huffer, Cali Connell, Jasmine Bishop, and Keionnie Ackley finished in second with a time 2:02.02.

In the 1600-meter run, Karleigh Cooper (MT) won with a time of 6:13.74, Alison Reeves (MT) was second with a time of 6:20.61, and Caitlyn Hayes (W) finished in third with a time of 6:30.57.

In the 4×100 meter relay, the team of Aubrey-Ana Creed, Cali Connell, Jasmine Bishop, and Nora Morrison (MT) won with a time of 56.26.

In the 400-meter dash, Eva Bennett (W) took second with a time of 1:03.09 and Lily Siler (MT) was third with a time of 1:04.83.

In the 200-meter hurdles, Abigail Forsythe (W) took second with a time of 32.67.

In the 800-meter run, Karleigh Cooper (MT) won with a time of 2:45.17 and Lily Siler (MT) finished in second with a time of 2:48.65.

In the 200-meter dash, Eva Bennett (W) was second with a time of 28.09 and Jayda Jones (MT) was third with a time of 29.79.

In the 4×400 meter relay, the team of Karleigh Cooper, Alison Reeves, Alli Knecht, and Lily Siler (MT) won and broke the meet record with a time of 4:36.70 and the team of Amelia Koutz, Anna Tackage, Caitlyn Hayes, and Abigail Forsythe (W) came in second with a time of 4:48.39.

In the shot put, Aubrey Keaton (MT) won and broke the meet record with a throw of 33’8” and Josilin Steele (MT) was second with a throw of 30’.

In the pole vault, Keira Leach (MT) won and tied the meet record with a vault of 7’6” and Emma Hoppes (MT) took second clearing 6’6”.

In the long jump, Nora Morrison (MT) finished in second with a jump of 14’1”.

In the discus, Aubrey Keaton (MT) won with a throw of 82’5”.
