According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

April 20

Breaking & Entering/Criminal Damaging: At 7:11 a.m., officers were dispatched to 219 Lewis St. in reference to unknown subjects breaking into a shed in the victim’s fenced-in back yard. The victim advised that several tools and other miscellaneous items were stolen. A report was completed.

OVI/OVI per se: At 8:32 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on the defendant. During the stop, officers detected the odor of alcohol coming from the defendant. The defendant was asked to submit sobriety tests. The defendant complied and was subsequently arrested as a result of the tests.

April 19

Aggravated Trespass/Aggravated Menacing/Assault: At 4:02 a.m., officers were dispatched to 933 Gregg St. in reference to an unknown nature. Upon arrival, contact was made with the victims, who advised the defendant trespassed on the property and made threats of physical harm. Prior to the defendant departing, he threw an item into the residence, striking the victim. Charges were filed and the defendant was later arrested.

Criminal Trespass/Criminal Damaging: At 7:31 p.m. on April 19, officers responded to 424 Mulberry St. in reference to a trespass complaint. Upon officers’ arrival, contact was made with the victim. The victim advised that unknown persons trespassed on the property and damaged two of his vehicles. A report was completed.

Assault: At 7:56 p.m., officers responded to 641 W. Oakland Ave. in reference to an assault complaint. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the parties involved and received conflicting stories from both sides. Due to no independent witness, all parties were advised a report would be completed and they would be referred to the solicitor for charges.

Failure to Control/OVI/Improper Handling Firearms in a Motor Vehicle: At 10:08 p.m., officers responded to a one-vehicle crash without reported injuries in the 300 block of Veterans Way. The vehicle was observed off the roadway and down an embankment. The defendant was exhibiting signs of impairment, and standardized field sobriety testing was conducted. The defendant was subsequently arrested as a result of his performance. The offender was in possession of a loaded firearm while in an intoxicated state.
