OHSAA Sectional pairings released for girls basketball

On Sunday afternoon, the OHSAA girls’ Sectional basketball pairings were released on their website.

The Washington Lady Lions (4-16) were seeded 16th in the bracket and will host Hillsboro (3-17), the 17th seed, on Monday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. The winner of that game will travel to Proctorville on Feb. 16 to take on Fairland (19-0), who is seeded number one in the bracket, at 7 p.m.

The Miami Trace Lady Panthers (11-8) were seeded 11th and will travel to New Lexington (15-5), the seventh seed, on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.

Rounding out the Frontier Conference, sixth seed Jackson (14-4) will host 11th seed Athens (12-8) on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m., 13th seed McClain (6-13) will travel to take on fourth seed Marietta (16-2), also at 7 p.m. on Feb. 16, and 23rd seed Chillicothe (13-5) will play the winner of 14th seed Teays Valley (14-6) and 24th seed Hilliard Bradley (8-10) on Feb. 18 at 1 p.m., at a site to be determined. Chillicothe is in the Division I Central District, while the rest of the FAC is in the Division II Southeast District.

Unioto (18-0) is the number two seed in the tournament and will play at home on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. against the winner of 15th seed Vinton County (4-14) and 18th seed Gallia Academy (3-17).
