On Wednesday, the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of local Trey Tompkins’ new athletic and physical fitness training facility, Horizon Athletic.

Horizon Athletic is located at 150 W. East St. in downtown Washington Court House.

According to Tompkins, “The priority of Horizon Athletic is to provide quality physical fitness training for youth athletes in our community and to compete regionally with our service. Further, my mission is to encourage exercise as a necessary tool to improve the quality of our lifestyles. Whether that begins in youth athleticism regarding sports, for an adult with a busy schedule, or an older adult wanting quality years and longevity.”

Horizon Athletic will offer a number of different services including youth athletic group classes, one-on-one personal training, and online workout programs through its app.

Athletic classes vary from strength training, mobility training, or core and speed conditioning, beginning at age 8.

One-on-one personal training and workout programs are for any age or goal orientation and are tailored specific to the individual.

Pricing for each of these programs is offered through consultation. For athletes wanting to enroll in a class, you can submit an inquiry at www.horizonathletic.club or just reach out to Horizon Athletic on Facebook. Reaching out over the phone at 740-505-4622 is also an option.

“I feel there is a good mixture of enthusiasm and optimism with what Horizon Athletic will bring,” added Tompkins. “So far, I’ve already booked a schedule that’s keeping me on my toes, but I always want to expand and help as much as I can.”

Tompkins also said, “Having the Chamber of Commerce ambassadors in the space was pleasant because I’ve gotten to know many of them on a personal level, so that’s reassuring and it gives me a spark to do my best to bring something successful and add value to our community.”
