Jackson tops Lady Lions, 12-4

The Washington Lady Lions varsity softball team hosted the team from Jackson High School for a Frontier Athletic Conference game Tuesday, April 26.

Jackson won the game, 12-4.

Jackson scored one run in the first and six in the third.

Washington scored one run in the third.

Jackson scored two runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth.

Washington plated two runs in the fourth and both teams scored one run in the seventh.

Makenna Knisley started and pitched the first 2.1 innings for Washington.

She allowed five hits and seven runs (one earned) with one strikeout and four walks.

Washington committed six errors in the game and Jackson had two.

Meredith Pabst pitched the final 4.2 innings with seven hits and five runs (four earned) with one strikeout and two walks.

Leah Alford was the winning pitcher for Jackson. She pitched three innings allowing two hits and one earned run. She had seven strikeouts and three walks.

Cloe Michael pitched four innings with four hits and three earned runs. She walked two and had one strikeout.

Offensively for Washington, Kassidy Olsson had one hit, scored one run and drove in two.

Makenna Knisley went 1 for 3 with one run and one RBI.

Addison Knisley was 1 for 4 with one RBI; Lilly Shaw had one hit and scored one run; Tristan Hammock had one hit and scored once.

Gabby Webb led Jackson with three hits, including a double and a triple, one RBI and four runs scored.

Michael had two hits, including a double, with two runs and two RBI; Bailey Witt and Ella Armstrong each had two hits for Jackson.

Lady Lions beat Lady Cavaliers

Washington improved to 8-7 overall with a 4-3 win over visiting Chillicothe Wednesday evening.

The Lady Lions are scheduled to host Wilmington Thursday at 5 p.m.
