Altrusa of Washington Court House recently donated to the Great Oaks Washington High School DECA club to help sponsor student-members that qualified for the national competition being held later this month.

The competition will be on April 26 in Atlanta, Ga. Anyone wanting to help sponsor DECA can send support to:

Washington High School DECA, 400 S. Elm Street, Washington C.H., OH 43160, or visit the DECA craft booth at the Altrusa Craft Show.

The craft fair will be on April 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. DECA members will be making and selling spring/summer crafts and fall/winter crafts to raise money for DECA, plus 30 more vendors are scheduled to be at the Altrusa Craft Show. Entry to the show is $2.

The Altrusa Club’s local board of directors has been serving in a supervisory capacity for the Great Oaks WHS youth DECA board since 2018. The DECA club consists of students in business, marketing, finance and management courses at Washington High School, and David Penwell is the advisor for the Great Oaks Washington High School DECA program.

DECA’s mission is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management with competence, innovation, integrity and teamwork. DECA partners include corporations, foundations, associations, colleges and universities that seek to support our leaders and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
