Police Incidents


According to reports, the Washington C.H. Police Department responded to the following calls:

Oct. 15

Breaking and Entering/Theft: At 6:25 p.m., officers responded to 406 E. Temple St. in reference to breaking and entering and theft. Jessica N. Beal advised unknown person(s) entered a garage and removed two bicycles. The incident is under investigation.

Felonious Assault: At 8:52 p.m., officers responded to the Fayette County Memorial Hospital emergency room in reference to a stabbing. Anthony T. Hall was stabbed by an unknown person in the chest while walking in the area of Broadway and John streets. He suffered a superficial wound, was treated and released. The victim was uncooperative in the incident.

Oct. 14

Possession of Drugs: At 1:09 p.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a registration violation. Contact was made with the driver and occupants. The K-9 officer was requested and a free air sniff was conducted around the vehicle. Positive indication was made by the K-9 for narcotics. During a vehicle search, narcotics were located on the passenger side of the vehicle. The passenger, Corey S. Keller, was arrested and charged with felony drug possession.

Domestic Violence: At 8:36 p.m., a woman came into the police department to report a domestic incident that occurred on Oct. 13. She advised that she was assaulted by her father, James W. Burlile. Burlile was located and arrested for domestic violence without incident.

Oct. 13

Domestic Dispute/Theft: At 4:35 p.m., officers responded to Pettits in reference to a possible domestic incident. Tyler Drake observed his ex-girlfriend at the business. He ran up to her and they got into an argument. Drake took the keys to her vehicle and departed. Drake was charged with theft.

Obstructing Official Business/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: At 7:23 p.m., officers received information on a wanted male, William Z. Wolfe. Officers went to 240 Chestnut St. and observed the wanted male. Officers made contact with Wolfe and advised him of the warrant for his arrest. Wolfe then fled into the house and officers pursued. Wolfe was taken into custody on the warrant and was charged with obstructing official business. After a search incident to his arrest, he was found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle, and was charged with possession of a drug abuse instrument.

OVI/Failure to Comply/Traffic Violations: At 9:56 p.m., the police department received a complaint of a possible intoxicated driver. A description of the suspect vehicle was obtained and its direction of travel. An officer located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle continued and did not comply once the officer activated his overhead lights. Eventually, the driver, Dustin A. Guzior, stopped the vehicle. He was found to be intoxicated and was charged with OVI, and was found to have a suspended driver’s license. Guzior was arrested for OVI, failure to comply, driving under suspension, and a traffic control device violation.
