


GREENFIELD — The 2018 youth football season wrapped up last Saturday with the Little Ohio Heritage Conference’s junior-varsity super bowl, played at McClain High School in Greenfield.
In the championship game, it was the Washington j-v Blue team taking on the Washington j-v White squad.
The teams are comprised of youngsters in the third and fourth grades.
The Blue team won the game on a very inclement weather day, 12-7.
All the scoring came in the first half.
For the Blue team, Aden Osborne had a 58-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.
The extra-point try was no good.
In the second quarter, Osborne had another touchdown run, this one going for 38 yards.
Again, the extra-point attempt failed.
For the White team, Quinton Marine scored on a 45-yard run. The extra-point run (worth one point) was good.
Both teams came into the game with identical 7-1 records.
“It was good that we had to play each other for the championship,” coach Steve Osborne said. “Because it shows promise for the future. But it was also sad that we had to play each other.
“These kids all go to school together,” Osborne said. “We had to split them up because we had enough players for two teams.
“I was proud of both teams,” Osborne said. “We scrimmaged each other all year long. It was a good, hard-fought game on both sides.”
