A Washington C.H. man was sentenced to two years in prison Monday after pleading guilty to trafficking methamphetamine.

Dereck A. Meddock, 34, was facing two drug-related cases, however the older case from a June 5 incident was dismissed, according to Fayette County Prosecutor Jess Weade. On June 5, authorities executed a search warrant at the AmeriHost Inn, Room 120, in Jeffersonville, and detectives detained two occupants, Meddock and Tesa M. Axline, 20, of South Solon.

During the search, a substance identified as meth was recovered. Axline took responsibility for the drugs — prompting the decision to drop the case against Meddock — and she was sentenced to two years in prison, according to Weade.

On July 27, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office deputies once again found Meddock and Axline together inside a room at the Baymont Inn on Allen Road. Inside the room, a significant amount of meth, scales, drug paraphernalia and cash were located. Meddock was recently indicted again for aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs.

Meddock pleaded guilty to trafficking meth, a third-degree felony, in this case and was sentenced Monday in Fayette County Common Pleas Court to the two years as part of a plea agreement. Meddock also had to forfeit $766 in cash.

Axline, currently serving her two-year prison sentence, also has a case pending against her for the July 27 incident, according to Weade.
