The Fayette Christian School Crusaders go to 3-0 to start the season after a 10-3 win Monday, Aug. 27 over Dayton Temple Christian.

The Crusaders got off to a slow start trailing 2-1 early before Spencer Hanusik and Nicholas Epifano combined for six consecutive goals to bump the Crusaders back on the lead to 7-2 early in the second half.

Hanusik again led the team in scoring with five goals and Epifano struck three times for a goal. Michael Miller and Gage McDaniel both had a goal in the last two minutes of the game.

The Crusaders outshot the Tigers unofficially 34 to 14.

Defensively, the group of Lane Hufford, Tyler Havens, Michael Miller and Christopher Tooill slowed down the Tigers on fast breaks down the field especially after the quick start by their opponents. Sam Sheeter added seven saves in the contest for the Crusaders.

The Crusaders are back in action on Friday at home hosting Lorain County Christian Academy starting at 5 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Facebook Live on the McDonald’s Fayette Co.Ohio page.
