Inaugural Dub-C Cup benefits Lady Lions’ soccer

The Washington High School Lady Lions soccer team held the Lady Lions Dub-C Cup golf outing on Saturday, June 16.

The purpose of the outing is to raise money to help pay for soccer camp for the girls soccer team. This year, the Columbus Crew Soccer Club technical and developmental staff will be hosting a team camp at the Washington High School soccer fields for the Lady Lions and boys Blue Lions soccer teams July 23-27.

They will also host a youth developmental camp each morning for players age 6-14. Local businesses and individuals assisted in the golf outing by sponsoring holes and donating prizes and/or money to be raffled off. Additionally, tickets to Columbus Crew and Dayton Dragons’ games were auctioned off, as well as an All-Season sports pass for Washington High School sports.

Chris Chambers, WHS Lady Lion soccer first-year head coach, said that the outing was very successful thanks in great part to the participation of the business community and golfers who participated. Plans are for this outing to become a yearly tradition for the Lady Lions Soccer program.

Thirteen teams participated in the inaugural outing held at The Greens of Fayette County.

The Lady Lion Soccer team would like to thank the sponsors & donors that made this outing such a great success: 9-Round, Brooke Mohr / Chloe & Abel, CS Title, Chrisman H2O Conditioning, Columbus Crew, Court House Manor, Dairy Queen, Dayton Dragons, EZ Oil, Gold Standard Cleaning, The Greens of Fayette County, Gusweiler Chevrolet, Health Kneads, Heritage Memorial Church, Home Depot, Jason Langley Realty & Auctioneers, Krogers, Parrot Insurance, Roosters, The Rusty Keg, the Shaffer Family, Steven Armstrong & ERA Associates, Summer Breeze Tanning, Superior Remodeling, Quali-Tee, and WCH Athletic Department.
