Davis, Metz have beach wedding

Miss Shelley Eliza Davis, daughter of James and Sandra Davis of Greenfield, and Mr. Brian Paul Metz, son of Richard and Sandra Metz of Boonton, New Jersey, were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 19, 2017, on the beach at the Ocean Place Resort and Spa in Long Branch, New Jersey. The wedding ceremony took place under a floral arch along the shore of the Atlantic Ocean with the Reverend Jarret Johnson of Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey officiating. The processional and recessional music was provided by cello and keyboard musicians.

The bride was escorted down the floral garland lined aisle by her father. She wore a custom designed wedding gown by Tatyana Merenyuk of Brooklyn, New York. The gown featured a drop waist fitted lace bodice with an open back. The flowing chiffon skirt featured a front slit and train. The bride’s feet were adorned with jeweled beach wedding barefoot jewelry. She carried a bouquet of pink and lavender sweet peas, pink dahlias and small flowers adding blue accents.

Mrs. Nicole Nappi, of Hoboken, New Jersey, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Nesheiwat of Bayonne, New Jersey, Erica Kearon of Hoboken, and Casey Bayvel of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey. The attendants wore pastel floral print gowns in shades of pink and blue. The gowns featured a ruched sweetheart bodice and a gently flowing skirt with front slit. They carried bouquets similar to the bride’s bouquet. Their feet were also adorned with barefoot jewelry.

Serving as best men were David Metz, brother of the groom, of Boonton and Rob Lane of Chester, New Jersey. The groomsmen were Adam Lulay of Centennial, Colorado and Frank Luciano of Rye, New York. All of the men wore Ralph Lauren light blue linen sport coats and light tan slacks. Their boutonnieres were pink roses with the groom’s boutonniere featuring a fishing lure. Anthony Davis, of Cincinnati, brother of the bride, handed wedding programs and sun glasses to the wedding guests.

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Davis wore a blue sequined lace and chiffon gown with a sash belt. The gown was completed with a coordinating rosette lace and sequin cropped jacket. Her wristlet corsage featured white roses.

The groom’s mother wore a pink chiffon sleeveless gown, accented with metal studs at the shoulders. Her wristlet corsage also featured white roses.

After the wedding ceremony, the wedding party and guests proceeded to the outdoor patio area at the Ocean Place Resort and Spa for the cocktail hour. Music was provided by a three-piece jazz band.

Dinner and dancing were in the Oceanport Room. The tables were decorated with blue glass bottles filled with pink dahlias and blue glass bowls with floating white candles. The four tier wedding cake featured buttercream frosting with a fish scale design. It was adorned with a pink dahlia and lavender sweet peas.

Dancing followed the dinner. All of the music for the evening was provided by the eight musicians and vocalists of the Silver Arrow Band of New York City. The photographer was Lev Kuperman of Livingston, New Jersey. The flower arrangements were by Jenna Morris of Water Lily Designs in Little Silver, New Jersey.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Washington High School in Washington Court House. She is a 2006 graduate of the Shannon Rodgers and Jerry Silverman School of Fashion Design and Merchandising with a minor in business marketing. She was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. After graduation, Davis began her fashion career with the Ralph Lauren Corporation in New York City as a fashion merchandiser. She is currently employed by the Calvin Klein/Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation in New York City as a merchandise planner.

The groom is a 1999 graduate of Boonton High School in New Jersey. He is a 2003 graduate of the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware. He holds a bachelor of science degree in finance. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity. Metz is employed at the corporate headquarters of Prudential Financial Inc. in Newark, New Jersey as vice president, National Accounts-Retirement Investment Solutions.

The newlyweds will be taking a honeymoon to Hawaii in December. They currently reside in Hoboken, New Jersey.
