The Washington Lady Blue Lion soccer team opened the 2017 season and play in the new Frontier Athletic Conference hosting Hillsboro Tuesday, Aug. 29.

Hillsboro won the match, 10-0.

Hillsboro had 18 shots on goal to four for Washington.

Lady Lions’ goalkeeper, Taylor Smith, had 11 saves.

“We held strong in the first half,” Washington head coach Tammi Ramsey said. Hillsboro led 2-0 at the intermission.

“I’d like to see more of that style of play,” Ramsey said. “We possessed and played smart for 40 solid minutes. Now, we just need to do that for 80 minutes.”

Washington will play at Chillicothe for another FAC match Thursday at 6:45 p.m.
