The Washington Fire Department blocked access to a portion of Court Street and forced entry into the building at 106 W. Court St. in Washington Court House Thursday after they received several reports of a smoke smell coming from the building. It was determined no fire was inside, but a flower box on the front of the building had a smoldering fire from a discarded cigarette. The WFD extinguished the flower box. The Fayette County EMS and Washington Police Department assisted at the scene.
