MT gets home game in baseball tournament

Pairings for the upcoming Division II baseball tournament were announced Sunday.

In baseball, the Miami Trace Panthers (with a record of 13-3 at the time of the draw) are a No. 2 seed.

They will host Circleville (No. 7, 7-13) on Thursday, May 11 at 5 p.m.

The Washington Blue Lions (No. 5 seed, 10-11) will play at Fairfield Union (No. 4 seed, 13-7) on Thursday, May 11 at 5 p.m.

The winner of the Miami Trace-Circleville game will play the Unioto (No. 3 seed, 14-5) vs. Chillicothe (No. 6, 13-9) winner at Athens High School in the District semifinals Monday, May 15 at 7 p.m.

The winner of the Fairfield Union vs. Washington game will play either Marietta (No. 1 seed, 16-3), Meigs (No. 8, 10-7) or Jackson (No. 9, 7-10) at Athens High School Monday, May 15 at 5 p.m.

Hillsboro is a No. 3 seed (with a record of 12-4). They will host Logan Elm (No. 6, 7-10), on Thursday, May 11 at 5 p.m. That winner will play either Athens (No. 2, 14-3), Gallia Academy (No. 7, 12-5) or Vinton County (No. 10, 5-10) on Monday, May 15 at Ohio University at 7 p.m.

McClain is a No. 8 seed with a record of 5-9. They will host New Lexington on Monday, May 8 at 5 p.m. That winner will play at Sheridan (No. 1 seed, 17-3) on Thursday, May 11 at 5 p.m.

One of those three teams will play the winner of the Warren (No. 4, 13-7) vs. Waverly (No. 5, 12-7) game in the District semifinals at Ohio University Monday, May 15 at 5 p.m.
