Astros softball beats Lady Lions

LEES CREEK — The Washington Lady Blue Lion varsity softball team visited the community of Lees Creek to take on East Clinton in an SCOL match-up Monday.

The Lady Astros won the game, 9-0.

Meghan Tucker pitched for Washington and took the loss.

She worked six innings with 10 hits and nine runs (three earned) with one walk and two strikeouts.

S. Christian was the winning pitcher for the Astros. She pitched seven innings with three hits and no runs, six walks and five strikeouts.

East Clinton scored six times in the first and added two in the fourth and one in the bottom of the sixth.

For Washington, Tucker had one hit, Maddison Osborn had one hit and MicKenna Nash had one hit.

Washington (0-3 overall, 0-2 in the SCOL) plays at Hillsboro Wednesday at 5 p.m.
