
The Good Hope Lions Club recently inducted three new members into its organization.
Lion Denver Hixon sponsored Jerry Hixon, Lion Jim Cooper sponsored Bill Berry and Lion Jim Davis sponsored Andy Daniels.
The Good Hope Lions Club invites the community to their semi-annual all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage dinner on Saturday, Nov. 12 from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. in the Wayne Township Hall in Good Hope. Cost of the meal is $6 for adults and $3 for children. Bulk sausage will also be available for sale.
Proceeds from the semi-annual pancake dinners and the annual bulk candy store enable the Good Hope Lions annually to contribute over $30,000 to local organizations, including $11,000 in combined scholarships to Greenfield McClain, Miami Trace and Washington high school seniors; United Way, My Sister’s House, The Well at Sunnyside, The Fayette County Food Pantry and many more.
Donations are also made to the Lions Club International Foundation, which administers disaster relief funds in circumstances such as earthquakes, typhoons, and hurricanes, as well as measles vaccinations, treating trachoma in under-developed countries, conducting research and treatment of a variety of sight-related diseases, providing free eye screenings for pre-school age children and eye-glasses for those unable to afford them, in Fayette County, Ohio, the United States and around the world
