PHILADELPHIA — Democrat Katie McGinty scored a prime speaking spot — she will address the Democratic National Convention on Thursday evening.
McGinty, who is trying to unseat Republican incumbent Sen. Pat Toomey in November, will speak around 6 p.m. as part of the line-up leading to Hillary Clinton’s acceptance speech.
“I want to talk about the fact that our best days are ahead if we get back to giving a real shot to anybody in this country who is willing to work hard,” McGinty said in an emailed release.
Offering McGinty a prime speaking slot is another indication of how important the Democratic Party feels Pennsylvania is, not only in winning the White House, but in gaining control of the Senate.
