Spring truck pull coming Saturday

The Fayette County Fairgrounds will host the annual Spring Truck Pull this Saturday at 7 p.m. and the community is invited to attend.

The spring truck pull will feature trucks with “pretty high horse power and are considered pretty fun to watch” by Off-season Events Committee member Jason Gentry. Gas and diesel both will be in the pull. This is brought to the fairgrounds thanks to the Central Ohio Truck Pull Circuit (COTPC) and the Fayette County Senior Fair Board.

“The fair board works hard to bring a variety of entertainment to the fairgrounds,” Gentry said. “I would really love to see the community come out to support us for doing that. If the community will continue to come to these events, we will be able to continue to bring events people enjoy and perhaps even bring some new events. This year we have brought the Antique Auctions and we will be holding dirt drag racing during the fair. We are always looking for new events to bring to the fairgrounds.”

The price of admission is $15 and that will allow residents anywhere in the fairgrounds, including the pit, to watch the evening pulls. There will be food available as well as beer and other beverages on the grounds. Additionally, prize money will be awarded to the winners.

The fair board will also be bringing the 137th Fayette County Fair to the fairgrounds from July 18-23 for a week full of rides, 4-H shows and McDonald’s Grandstand attractions. The attractions will include a stock truck pull, Signature Series Harness Racing, NTPA Truck and Tractor Pull, Nation-wide Demo Derby and the new Koi Dirt Drag Racing.

The Record-Herald will be publishing the 137th Fayette County Fair Preview section on July 14. The section will include stories on the 2016 Fair Queen, attractions coming to the fair, a complete schedule of events and photos from previous fairs.
