The Fayette Ladies Adventure Group (FLAG) is a division of the Fayette County Fish & Game Association. FLAG is dedicated to providing an interactive, outdoor experience for women ages 14 and older.

This year’s fun-filled day will take place on June 18 at the Fayette County Fish & Game lodge and grounds. We offer educational and hands-on activities taught by artisans, craft-makers and experienced persons in their field of study.

Our day begins with registration at 8 a.m. and is completed by 5 p.m. We provide a continental breakfast and a hot lunch, with beverages served throughout the day. In addition to the meals provided, your paid registration of $50 includes your choice of four FLAG courses (two in the morning and two in the afternoon), use of all equipment and one ticket to enter the grand prize drawing.

We also have FLAG items and other gifts available for raffles. Some instructors will be selling their handcrafted items also.

The classes offered this year are: Archery – learn how to shoot a compound and traditional bow; Shotgun – you will be taught how to safely handle and shoot this firearm using clay pigeons; Backyard Fun – attract birds, grow native plants, make seed balls, bee boxes and bird habitats and lots more; Kayaking – before taking a leisurely trip on scenic Paint Creek you’ll learn the basics including safety; Handgun – never shot before…learn how to handle, arm and shoot guns; Steel Plate Shoot – this is an easy and fun target game that’s great for practice or competition using handguns; Outdoor Dutch Oven Cooking – make a variety of tasty foods over an open flame in a Dutch Oven and take home lots of great recipes; Wreaths – make a beautiful autumn or Christmas wreath; Basket Weaving – have a fun time making a basket; Gourd Decorating – take a gourd and make a birdhouse to use in your backyard; Gun Cleaning – an important part of having a gun is keeping it clean; Jewelry Making – earrings, bracelets, etc…enjoy this hands-on course; Survival Lanyard – a great way to wear 10 feet of rope that may be useful in the outdoors; Prepping -learn all the many ways of being prepared for the worst, but hope for the best; and Rifle – take aim at targets after learning the basics about rifles.

Some classes are limited in size, so we encourage early registration.
