The Panthers had a season-high 10 stolen bases in the game.

“We played a solid ball game,” Miami Trace head coach Rob Smith said. “We still had some miscues at the wrong time that allowed Chillicothe to hang around.

“I like the way we’re playing,” Smith said. “Other than a couple of innings here and there, we’ve been playing good baseball. We’re getting better and better. A couple of breaks and we score a lot more runs tonight.

“Chillicothe played solid defense,” Smith said. “They’ve been in a lot of games lately. We thought it was a good win on the road.”

Miami Trace will play at the VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe Saturday in a doubleheader against Waterford. The first game is now set for 5:30 p.m. with the second game to follow around 8 p.m.
