The Miami Trace Middle School track teams competed in the Clinton-Massie Relays Wednesday, April 13.
The Miami Trace boys team took the runner-up spot in a field of six teams with 69 points.
Blanchester won the meet with 75 points.
East Clinton was third with 64 points, followed by Clinton-Massie with 56. Waynesville tied with Wilmington for fifth place, each with 49 points.
The Miami Trace girls placed third in their meet.
Wilmington won the girls’ meet with 96 points.
Clinton-Massie placed second with 79 points, followed by Miami Trace with 59 points and Waynesville with 57 points.
Blanchester had 43 points and East Clinton tallied 29 points.
Miami Trace had three first place results.
The Panthers set a new middle school record of 10:05 in winning the 4 x 800-meter relay.
That team was made up of Caleb Perry, Henry DeBruin, Simon DeBruin and Cole Enochs.
The Panthers won the sprint medley relay in a time of 1:55.9. That team was composed of Keegan Terry, Caden Sweitzer, Andrew Amore and Perry.
Miami Trace won the 4 x 400-meter relay with a time of 4:10.3. That team consisted of Perry, Henry DeBruin, Simon DeBruin and Enochs.
Amore and Jaden Haldeman combined to place second in the pole vault at 7’ 6”.
In the distance medley relay, the Panthers took second in 10:16.9. That team consisted of Kody Burns, Henry DeBruin, Simon DeBruin and Enochs.
The Panthers 4 x 200-meter relay placed third in 1:54.5. That team was Burns, Terry, Colin Farrens and Sweitzer.
In the discus event, the trio of Austin Conklin, Jay Caudill and Caden Bridges placed fourth at 150’ 4”.
Amore, Haldenman and Farrens combined to place fourth in the high jump at 9’ 8”.
The 4 x 100-meter relay team placed fourth with a time of 54.9. Those team members were Terry, Farrens, Caudill and Sweitzer.
Caudill, Bridges and Trevor Throckmorton took fifth in the shot put at 57’ 11”.
In the shuttle hurdle relay, Miami Trace was fifth in 1:22.9. That team was Cyrus Keplinger, Throckmorton, Haldeman and Branson Morris.
In the long jump, the Panthers were sixth at 24’ 6”. That trio was Keplinger, Kyler Batson and Mcale Callahan.
The Miami Trace girls team had one first place result. Sayler Preston and Kylie Petitt won the pole vault with a combined height of 13’ 0”.
In the shot put, Aubrey Schwartz, Sidney Howard and Makayla Lingerfelt placed second at 53’ 1”.
Bridget Perkins, Olivia Fleihman and Kate Leach took second in the high jump at 4’ 2”.
The Miami Trace 4 x 200-meter relay placed third with a time of 2:10.8. That team was made up of Lilly Litteral, Leach, Perkins and Grace Bapst.
Miami Trace placed third in the 4 x 400-meter relay in a time of 5:04.8. Those team members were Bapst, Chloe Scott, Saylor Moore and Abby Arledge.
Miami Trace was fourth in the 4 x 800-meter relay in 12:12. Those runners were Scott, Aubrey McCoy, Pettit and Fliehman.
In the sprint medley relay, Shania Villarue, Litteral, Arledge and Fleihman took fourth in 2:18.7.
Scott, Moore, Preston and Pettit were fourth in the distance medley relay in 12:43.3.
The Miami Trace 4 x 100-meter relay was fourth in a time of 1:00.4. Those runners were Villarue, Arledge, Perkins and Litteral.
In the long jump, Villarue, Gracie Greene and Howard placed fifth at 23’ 3”.
The shuttle hurdle relay team placed fifth in 1:29.9. That team was made up of Bapst, Moore, Anna Williams and Greene.
The trio of Schwartz, Hayley Binegar and Howard were sixth in the discus throw at 102’ 8”.
Miami Trace will have a home tri-meet Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. with teams from McClain and Adena.
