Lady Panthers track 4th at Circleville


The Miami Trace track teams began the 2016 season taking part in the Circleville Relays Saturday, April 2.

The Lady Panthers placed fourth out of eight teams with 74 points.

Circleville slipped past Westfall and Bellefontaine for first place with 108 points to 103 and 101, respectively for the other two schools.

Logan Elm was fifth with 63 team points, followed by Hillsboro (46), McClain (42) and Huntington (27).

On the boys’ side, Miami Trace placed sixth with 60 points.

Circleville won with 104 points with a close battle for second between Bellefontaine (95) and McClain (93).

Logan Elm was fourth with 86 points, followed by Hillsboro with 66 points.

Westfall placed seventh with 39 points, and rounding out the field was Huntington (32).

The Lady Panthers took first place in one event, the triple jump.

The duo of Macy Creamer and Tori Evans combined for a distance of 50’ 7 1/2”.

There were two second place finishes for Miami Trace.

In the high jump, Tori Morrison and Macey Stires combined for a height of 9’ 2”.

Miami Trace took second in the medley relay (200, 100, 400 and 800-meters).

The team of Abby Riley, Alexis Smith, Julia Barrett and Tori Evans combined for a time of 5:09.6.

In the 4 x 800-meter relay, the team of Evans, Jillian Sollars, Gwen Donato and Barrett clocked a time of 12:52 to place third.

Katie Seyfang and Sierra Stout placed fourth in the shot put with a distance of 58’ 8”.

In the long jump, Creamer and Laralyn LeBeau were fourth, clearing 27’ 0”.

Miami Trace was fourth in the 4 x 100-meter relay with a time of 58.5. That team consisted of Creamer, Morgan Miller, LeBeau and Smith.

In the 4 x 1600-meter relay, Miami Trace placed fifth in 30:22.

That team was comprised of Sollars, Barrett, Donato and Elizabeth Kratzer.

Miami Trace was fifth in the sprint medley relay (100, 100, 200, 400-meters). Riley, Smith, Miller and Stires turned in a time of 2:23.1.

In the 4 x 200-meter relay, the Lady Panthers were 5th in 2:07.3. Those team members were Smith, Miller, Morrison and LeBeau.

The 4 x 400-meter relay was contested by Creamer, Stires, Miller and LeBeau. That quartet placed fifth in a time of 5:11.

In the pole vault, Morrison and Kratzer combined to clear 11’ 0”, placing fifth.

In the discus throw, Seyfang and Stout were fifth with a combined distance of 149’ 3”.

The distance medley relay (800, 200, 400, 1600) team was sixth in 12:06. That team was Donato, to Riley, to Morrison then to Sollars.

The Miami Trace boys team had five third place results.

The team of Corey Olley, Malik Jackson, Colton Sword and Drake Litteral were third in 1:44.2.

In the distance medley relay (800, 200, 400, 1600), Miami Trace was third in 9:12.

That team was composed of Jake Atwood, Jonah Meehan, Olley and Blake Pittser.

The Panthers took third in the 4 x 100-meter relay in 47.4. That team’s members were Devin Bainter, Jackson, Noah Wiseman and Litteral.

Will Phillips and Wes Seyfang were third in the shot put with a combined distance of 72’ 1/2”.

Seyfang teamed with Brad Mossbarger to take third in the discus throw at 207’ 0”.

In the 6400-meter relay, Pittser, August Langley, Jothem Lewis and Trenton Crawford placed fourth in 22:40.

Brandon Arledge and Olley teamed up to place fourth in the triple jump at 60’ 10”.

The Panthers’ sprint medley relay (100, 100, 200, 400) placed fifth in 1:50.0. That team was Wiseman, Litteral, Bainter and Meehan.

In the 4 x 800-meter relay, Miami Trace was fifth in 10:38. That team consisted of Atwood, Josh Holmes, Langley and Crawford.

Justin Jones and Hunter Howard placed fifth in the pole vault at 15’ 0”.

In the high jump, Jackson and Wiseman placed fifth at 10’ 0”.

Wiseman and Bainter placed seventh in the long jump at 31’ 11”.

The medley relay (200, 100, 400, 800) placed eighth in 4:26.8. That team was made up of Arledge, Justin Reed, Sword and Lewis.

Miami Trace was scheduled to take part in a tri-meet Thursday at Madison Plains (along with West Jefferson). That meet was cancelled.

The Panthers have a home tri-meet against Hillsboro and London Tuesday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
