Wayne Forsythe and Velma Bick were joined in union on Nov. 3, 1940 as the first wedding to be held in the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Winchester. The ceremony was performed by the bride’s uncle, Russel Bowman. This is a photo that was taken on the day of the wedding. This year the couple celebrated their 75th anniversary.

Wayne and Velma Forsythe have grown quite a family in 75 years: two children, Linda Melton and Samuel Forsythe, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The couple has resided in Fayette County since 1943.
