Community Grief Workshop to be held

0

The next Community Grief Workshop will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 1 in the conference room at the Center for Economic Opportunity, 101 East East St. in Washington C.H.

These quarterly workshops are sponsored by the Fayette County AmVets and Hospice of Fayette County. The hours for the free workshop are 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.

There is no one who does not experience some form of grief in their lifetime: the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, a divorce, moving to a new community, death of a pet, loss of a dream, children leaving home, aging. All of these losses happen to people all the time.

Why do some people seem to get through the grief journey with no stumbles and others struggle with the journey? Our culture, religion, up-bringing and our life-experiences all play a part in how we deal with significant losses in our lifetime.

This is an educational workshop. Hopefully the information gained will help those in attendance avoid some of the pit-falls that occur during the grief journey. Some may find their journeys are shortened. The goal is to provide those in attendance with information pertinent to their needs as they progress through grief.

To reserve your seat at the September workshop, please call Hospice of Fayette County at 335-0149.
