According to reports, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls:
AUG. 9
CANINE AT LARGE: A Washington C.H. resident reported her neighbor’s dogs running at large.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS/CRIMINAL DAMAGING: A Bloomingburg resident reported over the past 48 hours someone trespassed on her residential property and damaged a door to her residence.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Wendy’s in Jeffersonville on a disturbance complaint. Samantha Mueller and Stephanie Mueller, both of Kentucky were arrested in the incident.
AUG. 8
BURGLARY/THEFT: A Washington C.H. resident reported a known female who was a guest at his residence was left alone at the residence. Upon his return the female was gone and he noticed that several items were missing from the residence.
DOMESTIC DISPUTE: A male and female were in a verbal dispute and the female alleged the male made threats of harming himself. The male subject was located and denied any threats of harming himself.
UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE: A Jeffersonville resident reported she allowed a known male to use her vehicle. He was to return the vehicle at in the afternoon however as of the time of this report he had not done so. The victim was referred to the Village Solicitor for charges.
UNRULY CHILD: A report was made on a 10-year-old male alleged to be unruly. The child was counseled concerning his behavior. The mother declined charges at this time.
MENACING: A male and female from Good Hope, reported being involved in a verbal dispute.Both parties were contacted and declined to pursue charges.
AUG. 7
FOUND PROPERTY: Clifford Upthegrove, Jeffersonville found two plastic pistol cases hidden in the tall grass at the rear of his property. Upthegrove knew a neighbor recently had weapons stolen and he contacted the victim, who identified the property as his.
CIVIL DISPUTE: A Chicago, Ill. resident reported he was not happy with the work that had been done on his truck while at Central Ohio Truck and Trailer Repair. Upon deciding to have the truck towed to another repair shop he was in disagreement with the detail of the bill for the work done by Central Ohio Truck and Trailer Repair. After discussing the situation with the repair shop the bills were adjusted to show more detail and the complainant paid the bill and departed.
VEHICLE FIRE: Hunter Black, Greenfield reported he was driving south bound on I-71 near the 65 mile marker when his vehicle began to smoke. Upon stopping he found a fire under the hood. Jefferson Twp Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.
ASSIST: Employees of the Ranch of Opportunity reported an incident with a 14-year old-female client. The female was transported to Fayette Memorial Hospital.
ASSAULT: The staff from the Fayette County Memorial Hospital reported the staff from the Ranch of Opportunity brought a 14-year-old female client to the ER for treatment stemming from a reported assault by another female resident.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE/CRIMINAL DAMAGING: A Jeffersonville resident reported she and a known male became involved in a verbal argument with another male subject who also resides at the residence. During the argument a mirror was broken by one of the males. All parties denied any physical altercation and declined charges.
AUG. 6
CRIMINAL DAMAGING: A Bloomingburg resident reported during the evening hours someone broke a window in her residence by throwing a rock through it.
TRAFFIC CRASH: April Eggleton, Washington C.H. was traveling on US 22 near White Road,when a dog entered her lane of travel and was struck.
DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Sheriff’s deputies responded to West Street in Bloomingburg on a domestic complaint. Upon arrival all parties involved were identified and it was determined that no assault
or threats of violence had occurred.
CIVIL: A female of Washington C.H. reported the father of her child failed to return their child after the father’s visitation. The father was contacted and arrangements were made for pick up.
BURGALRY/THEFT: Betina Beatty of Washington C.H. reports someone entered her residence and removed items from inside.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS: Amber Stone of Washington C.H. reports she observed a male subject walking away from her property and the outside water spigot was turned on.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS: Christina L. Morris of Bloomingburg reported an unwanted person was invited to her residence by a family member.
NEIGHBOR DISPUTE: A Washington CH, Ohio resident reported she was involved in a verbal dispute with her neighbor.
AUG. 5
BURGLARY/THEFT: Clarence Sutton, Washington C.H. reported someone forcibly entered his residence and removed property.
TRAFFIC CRASH: Jacob O’Dea of Washington C.H. was backing from a driveway on Jamison Road. O’Dea failed to failed to yield the right of way causing Cammy Brown of Washington C.H. to strike O’Dea’s vehicle. O’Dea was privately transported to a medical facility for treatment of injuries. O’Dea was cited for improper backing.
AUG. 4
TRAFFIC CRASH: Shawn M. Hall of Washington C.H., was traveling southbound on Bogus Road near Robinson Road when Hall failed to maintain control of his motor vehicle. Hall traveled left of center, off of the east side of the roadway into the ditch striking a utility pole. The vehicle suffered moderate damage. No injuries were reported. Hall was charged with failure to control and OVI.
CRIMINAL DAMAGING: Tiffany Lawson, Jeffersonville, reported someone damaged a lawn ornament and wrote on her door.
DRUG ABUSE: Deputies initiated a traffic stop on Circle Avenue at S. Fayette Street. During the course of this stop a canine sniff of the vehicle was conducted resulting in a positive indication on the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and a small quantity of marijuana was located in the vehicle. Levi O’Neil, of Washington CH, was issued a minor misdemeanor citation for possession of marijuana.
AUG. 3
TRAFFIC CRASH: John W. Hardison of Salisbury, South Carolina was traveling westbound on U.S. Rte. 35 East near State Route 41-South when Hardison struck a deer in the roadway resulting in a motor vehicle crash. The vehicle suffered minor damages. No injuries were reported.
TRAFFIC CRASH: Around 9:30 a.m. a three car motor vehicle crash occurred within Fayette County sending Fairfield resident to Kettering hospital. The report states Bryan Harper of Roseville was traveling southbound on I-71 near mile post #69 when Harper’s trailer broke free from his motor vehicle. The trailer traveled across the southbound lanes of travel, across the median and entered the northbound lanes. The trailer continued on, striking a northbound vehicle operated by Lori Stettler of Fairfield and a second vehicle operated by David Kline Jr. of Martinsville, West Virginia. Stettler sustained serious injury resulting from the crash, and was flown by Med Flight to Kettering Medical Center. Harper was cited for unsecure load.
TRAFFIC CRASH: Shortly after 12 p.m. a four car motor vehicle crash occurred within Fayette County sending a Kentucky resident and his wife to Kettering hospital. The report states Rodney Pearson of Huber Heights was traveling eastbound on U.S.Route 35 West between the 8 and 9-mile post. Pearson was traveling partially in the emergency lane, searching for a lost item within the median when Zechariah Q. Plessinger of Washington C.H. approached Pearson’s vehicle in the left hand lane. Plessinger swerved to the right to avoid a collision with Pearson, and entered the right hand lane, striking an eastbound vehicle – travel trailer operated by Larry Caudill of Flatwoods, Ky. Caudill’s combination vehicle then jacked knifed, traveled across both lanes of travel, across the median, and into the westbound lanes of travel striking a Rumpke Truck operated by James R. Houk Jr. of Hamilton. Larry Caudill, and his wife, Teresa Caudill were flown by Med Flight to Kettering Medical Center for treatment of incapacitating injuries. Pearson was cited for stopping in the roadway. Plessinger was cited for failure to stay within marked lanes. U S 35 remained closed for five hours while crews cleaned up the scene.
BURGLARY/THEFT: Todd Beard of Jeffersonville reported that someone entered his residence and removed 2 handguns and a computer.
POSSESSION OF DRUG ABUSE INSTRUMENTS/DRUG PARAPHERNALIA: Deputies and EMS were dispatched to Bogus Road on a medical complaint. Upon the completion of the investigation a hypodermic needle and a spoon was located at the residence. April Morris was charged in the incident.
ASSAULT: A 13-year-old male reported he was struck by a known male.
MENACING: A Bloomingburg resident reported he went to a neighbor’s residence to inquire about his cat. A known male at the residence allegedly made verbal threats. Both parties were referred to the solicitor.
TRAFFIC CRASH: Joni D. Blouse of Washington C.H. and James T. Riggs of Fairfield were traveling eastbound near 9947 Old U S Route 35-West when a large tree broke free from the ground during a large wind storm.The tree fell onto the roadway striking both vehicles.The vehicles suffered moderate damage. No injuries were reported.
CRIMINAL DAMAGING, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Two male juveniles were criminally charged after causing damages to property located at the Fayette County Fairgrounds.
ILLEGAL CONVEYANCE OF DRUGS: An inmate of the Fayette County Jail conveyed illegal contraband into the jail following his arrest.
UNRULY JUVENILE: A report was made on a female juvenile who became unruly and disobedient. The juvenile was counseled.
TELEPHONE HARASSMENT: A Jeffersonville resident reported a known female continues to text and call her phone.
THEFT: Employees of DSW Outlets in Jeffersonville reported that unknown males entered the store and concealed items and departed the store.
HIT/SKIP CRASH: Alston M. Curtis of Xenia was traveling eastbound on Upper Jamestown Road approaching State Route 41-North when an unknown person / vehicle approached Upper Jamestown Road from State Route-41. The unknown vehicle was completely left of center, causing Curtis to take evasive action. Curtis traveled left of center, off of the north side of the roadway, striking a culvert. The vehicle fled the scene following the crash and remains unknown. The Curtis’ vehicle suffered minor undercarriage damage. No injuries were reported.
AUG. 2
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Village Pump in Jeffersonville on a disturbance complaint. The involved parties were referred to the village solicitor.
TRAFFIC CRASH: Neil Mick of Greenfield was traveling southbound on State Route 753 near Ghormley Road when Mick struck a deer in the roadway resulting in a motor vehicle crash. The vehicle suffered minor damages. No injuries were reported.
TRAFFIC CRASH: Terry Ritchie of South Salem was traveling westbound on U S Route 35-East near mile post 20 when Ritchie’s driveshaft gave way. The driveshaft traveled off of the north side of the roadway into the ditch causing a small grass fire. The fire was extinguished by members of the Wayne Twp. Fire Department.
BREAKING AND ENTERING/THEFT: Mark Whaley of Washington C.H. reported that he arrived home to observe an unknown male pushing a bicycle that was in his unlocked shed. The unknown male stated he was trying to get to Frankfort and left the bicycle and departed the area.
AUG. 1
THEFT: Jonah D. McCoy of Washington C.H. reported sometime overnight someone removed an item from his parked motor vehicle.
DOMESTIC DISPUTE: A complaint of a domestic incident was received on Main Street in Good
Hope. Upon completion of the investigation all parties were identified. No assault or threats of violence occurred.
CRUELTY TO ANIMALS: Shane Mosier of Bloomingburg reported that someone had killed his cat and placed it on his property
DRUG ABUSE INSTRUMENTS: A resident on High Street in Jeffersonville reported that a hypodermic needle was located at the end of her driveway.
TRAFFIC CRASH: An unknown person/vehicle was traveling westbound near 2872 S R 734-East when the unknown vehicle traveled left of center while negotiating a right hand curve. Bryan Bartruff of Washington C.H. was traveling westbound negotiating the same curve and traveled off of the south side of the roadway to avoid being struck. Bartruff failed to maintain control of his vehicle when re-entering the roadway, traveling left of center, off of the north side of the roadway, striking a DP&L utility pole. Bartruff sustained minor injuries from the crash,refusing medical treatment from squad personnel on scene. Bartruff was cited for failure to control.
TRAFFIC CRASH: Glena K. Green of Washington C.H. was traveling eastbound on U.S. Route 35-West near Palmer Road when Green’s right rear tire and axle broke free from her vehicle.Green’s vehicle became disabled, traveling off of the south side of the roadway. The tire and axle continued on eastbound, traveling across both lanes of travel, across the median, entering the westbound lanes striking a westbound vehicle, operated by Norma Alvarez of Cincinnati.The tire and axle continued on striking a second vehicle operated by Cynthia A. Jackson of Kettering. Both Alvarez and Jackson suffered non-life threatening injuries and were treated and transported by the squad to Fayette County Memorial Hospital.
