The Washington C.H. 10-year-old all-star team routed Moraine West Carrollton Friday night, 20-0.
The team will be back in action Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in the District Eight semifinals at Lewis Street.
Should Washington C.H. win that game, they would play the winner of Saturday’s second game Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Little League complex.
Washington C.H. scored five runs in the first, 10 in the second, one in the third and four in the fourth inning.
Tanner Lemaster, A.J. Dallmayer and Tate Landrum combined to pitch a no-hitter over four innings.
Lemaster pitched the first 1.1 innings with one walk and three strikeouts.
Dallmayer pitched 1.2 innings with one walk and four strikeouts and Tate Landrum pitched the final inning with three strikeouts.
Washington collected 13 hits and took advantage of five walks and nine Moraine errors.
Washington sent nine batters to the plate in the first inning, scoring five runs.
Tyler Tackage had a two-run single that scored Jonah Waters and Brayden Kettles.
Errors helped account for the other three runs in the inning by Washington C.H.
In the bottom of the first, Lemaster struck out the side in 1-2-3 fashion.
Washington C.H. sent 18 batters to the plate in the second inning, scoring 10 runs.
Lemaster faced two batters in the bottom of the second inducing the first batter to fly out and walking the second batter.
At this point, Dallmayer came in to pitch for Washington C.H.
He got a strikeout and then the runner who walked and moved to second on a wild pitch tried to make it to third on another wild pitch, but he was thrown out to end the inning.
That was as close as Moraine would get to scoring on this night.
The highlight for Moraine may very well have come in the top of the third when Washington C.H. loaded the bases on errors before Moraine was able to turn a double play. Washington C.H. scored just one run in that inning.
Dallmayer had three strikeouts and one walk in the bottom of the third.
In the fourth inning, Tackage hit a triple and Landrum followed with a double to make it 17-0.
Later in the inning, Guthrie hit a double that scored Little, who had reached on an error.
Collin Southworth hit a single to score Guthrie to make it 20-0.
Landrum closed out the game for Washington C.H. by striking out the Moraine side in the bottom of the fourth.
