Win Columbus Zoo tickets at Farmers Market


Enter the contest at the Fayette County Farmers Market to name this cria (baby alpaca).

The Fayette County Farmers Market is awarding four admission tickets to the Columbus Zoo to the winner of our “name the cria” contest.

Both the entry ballots and the ballot box will be at the market info table this Saturday and questions may be directed to Hank White, David Persinger or Debra Grover. The winner of our “name the cria (baby alpaca)” contest will be notified Sept. 4 and the tickets may be picked up at the Market on Saturday, Sept. 5, Labor Day weekend. This week the Market welcomes back the representatives of Garland Farms and their much anticipated sweet corn.

The Market is located in the municipal parking lot on the corner of South Main and E. East street and as always SNAP EBT food benefit cards and credit/debit cards are accepted.

Vendors expected this week include (among others who did not know as of yet):

Gerhardt’s (Kevin Gerhardt): sweet corn and beets.

Garland Farms (Joe Garland): bi color sweet corn.

BYE Gardens (Brian and Elaine Yoder): kale, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, cabbage, cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash, green tomatoes, tomatoes, lettuce and local honey.

Engeti (Beth Day and Alana Walters): cinnamon rolls, pies, cobblers, cookies, noodles and rolls.

Martin’s Holiday & Weekly Baking (Vaughn, Cinda Martin and Hunter Rohrer): assorted breads, dinner rolls, cinnamon buns and whoopie pies.

Debruins Family Dairy (Toni, Dallas and Grant Debruin): organically grown produce, chocolate chip cookies, gourd bird houses, math fractal artwork.

King’s Farms (Jeff and Sandi King): seasonal produce and baked goods.

Jones Farm Fresh Produce (Jon and Taylor Jones): green beans, red potatoes, sweet (candy) and green onions, bell peppers, zucchini and yellow squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, romaine lettuce, cabbage, brown eggs and whole frozen chickens.

Rachel’s Flour Shoppe (Rachel McClish): assorted fruit pies, sheet cakes, and cookies. Call Rachel at 740-572-0038 by Friday morning for special orders.

Your Other Mother’s Kitchen (Don and Sara Creamer): artisan breads, whole wheat brownie tarts and bran muffin tops.

Harding’s Naturally Homegrown (Gigi Kidwell): farm fresh eggs, bacon, sausage, Fayette honey, and herbs.

All that Glitters (Patty Bailey): handcrafted jewelry.

What nots & Fancies & Whims, Oh My!!! (Mary Sanderson): garden stakes, dessert/snack stands and centerpieces, hand-painted tile art, coasters, magnets and pendant necklaces.
