The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following, according to reports:
JULY 1
THEFT: Jerry M. Campbell of Bloomingburg reported he was scammed by an unknown person on the internet.
TRAFFIC CRASH: Jordan K. Vanzant of Clovis, Calif. was traveling eastbound on U S Rte 35 near the Mills Road overpass when Vanzant reportedly fell asleep. Vanzant traveled off of the north side of the roadway into the median. Vanzant over corrected when re-entering the roadway, traveled across both eastbound lanes, off of the south side of the roadway where Vanzant’s vehicle overturned. Vanzant sustained minor injuries; however he refused medical treatment on the scene. Vanzant was cited for failure to control.
BURGLARY/THEFT: Steven Speelman of Washington C.H. reported person(s) unknown entered his residence and removed items from inside.
TELEPHONE HARASSMENT: Tina Mottie of Jeffersonville reported receiving unwanted text messages from a known subject. Contact was made with the known subject advising to cease all contact.
LITTERING OFFENSE: Brenda Warner of Washington C.H. reported unknown person not being a resident of the apartment complex placed two garbage bags in the dumpster.
JUNE 30
WANTED PERSON: Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Stephanie Fink residence on a well-being check. It was learned during this time Fink had an outstanding warrant for her arrest, and was taken into custody without incident.
BREAKING AND ENTERING/THEFT: William E. Bennett of Bloomingburg reported sometime within the past four months persons unknown entered his garage removing several items.
NEIGHBOR DISPUTE: Deputies were dispatched to Woodsview Square on a neighbor dispute.
RUNAWAY JUVENILE: Staff members of the Ranch of Opportunity reported a female juvenile ran away from the facility.
THEFT: Randal Oakman of Washington C.H. reported sometime overnight persons unknown entered his parked motor vehicle removing several items.
BREAKING AND ENTERING/THEFT: Ronald I. Sturgell of Jeffersonville reported sometime within the past month persons unknown entered his storage locker removing several items.
DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Alicia Zimmerman of Washington C.H. reported she was involved in a verbal dispute with a family member.
BREAKING AND ENTERING/THEFT: An employee of Buckeye Community Apartments reported two known persons forced entry to an apartment removing several items.
CRIMINAL DAMAGING/BURGLARY/THEFT: Justin Roberts of Washington C.H. reported sometime within the past seven days persons unknown damaged a window to his residence. Roberts also reported within the past seven days persons unknown entered his residence removing several items.
MENACING: Timothy C. Maggard of Washington C.H. reported he had received a threatening letter from a known person.
JUNE 29
MENACING: Audrey R. Toole of Washington C.H. reported she was verbally threatened by known persons. Toole declined prosecution at the time of the report.
