Fayette County Farmers Market organizers hope all have a safe and happy Fourth of July weekend. They invite you to stop in this Saturday morning, visit with them, see what they’ve been growing, pick up supplies for your holiday dining and enjoy the many activities scheduled for this weekend’s market.

Local seasonal produce, cuts of chicken and pork, baked goods and gift items are all available for your grilling, visiting and meal needs. Streetside 62 will be at the Market to prepare food entrees featuring produce and meat supplied by the vendors. Food service from 10 a.m. to noon will be available.

Plus Hank White plans to have a mother alpaca with its young cria here for viewing. Debra Grover will have activities for the younger crowd including the hiding and locating of “3 peas in a pod” within the market and a produce scavenger hunt. Local representatives of the “Are you TOUGH ENOUGH to wear pink?” horse show charity will be at the market to offer raffle tickets and event related items for sale, and to provide show bills for the horse show.

The event is co-sponsored by Ohio Health and proceeds from the horse show, raffle, and memorabilia sales go toward cancer patient assistance funding. The Horse show is Sept. 18, 19 and 20 at the Roberts Arena in Clinton County. Raffled items include a “Four Star” two horse slant trailer, a “Bad Boy” zero turn mower, and a horse training saddle. These will be on display.

WVNU FM radio 97.5 is also scheduled to be at the market Saturday doing a live broadcast from 10 a.m. to noon! Come say hello to Nelson and crew as they make their way through the market.

The Market is located in the municipal parking lot on the corner of South Main and East East streets and as always SNAP EBT food benefit cards and credit/debit cards are accepted.
