The Washington Lady Blue Lions hosted the volleyball team from Wilmington for what will possibly be the final time on Thursday.

The SCOL is disbanding after this school year.

Washington won the match in three sets, 25-14, 25-11 and 25-21.

“I thought we played a pretty strong match,” Washington head coach Ashley DeAtley said. “We started off with our normal rotation. Their libero was on tonight. So, we just knew we had to go strong against them. We had to control our tempo.

“Our girls did a very nice job,” DeAltey said. “I was really proud of them. We were able to get some other players in. It was an even keel game.”

Washington (now 11-6 overall and 9-3 in the SCOL), will play at Wheelersburg Saturday at 11 a.m. The j-v match Saturday is set for 10 a.m.

They will be at McClain High School in Greenfield Tuesday and home against Miami Trace for Senior Night Thursday.

Washington’s j-v team defeated Wilmington Thursday, 25-15 and 25-15.
